We learned so much about happiness and longevity from Blue Zone's founder Dan Buettner.  From how vertical a village is to the role of religion, the patterns of Blue Zones have implications for practices we all can integrate to live longer, healthier lives.  Folks joined us at four in-person locations and from around the country via Zoom for this engaging talk and Q&A with Planning Alternatives CEO, Nathan Mersereau.  Tune in to understand for yourself and learn what our audiences’ biggest question was about (hint: it's often red and people who live past 100 drink it for breakfast).

About Dan Buettner

Dan Buettner is an National Geographic Explorer and multiple New York Times Bestselling author. He discovered the five places in the world – dubbed blue zones – where people live the longest, healthiest lives. His articles about these places in The New York Times Magazine and National Geographic are two of the most popular for both publications.

Buettner founded Blue Zones LLC, a company that works in partnership with city governments, hospital systems, and insurance companies to implement insights he gleaned in Blue Zones to help make cities healthier.  In one such city, Fort Worth Texas, obesity rates drop by 3%, and the city reported $250 million in projected health care cost savings. To date, over 70 cities have adopted Blue Zones Projects, improving the health of more than 10 million Americans to date.

Most recently, Dan’s Netflix Series, “Live to 100” was nominated for six Emmy Awards and won three of them.
